The role holder will be responsible for managing a small team who provide housekeeping and breakfast services of the highest standard to guests who return time and time again.

About the role and what we need from you

  • This is a position of responsibility, and the role holder will be a key component of the management team, helping the Group to deliver against its wider leisure objectives and business plan.
It involves managing team performance, motivating colleaguesand developing individuals to achieve their full potential.

  • Our client wants its guests to be wowed by the level of customer care to encourage them to return year after year.

The main duties of the role include:

  • Managing an eight bedroom B&B, maximising bookings and ensuring that it meets the highest possible customer service and accommodation quality standards.
  • Playing the lead 'front of house' role, planning all guest care and supervising the housekeepers and the breakfast routine as required.
  • Handling all guest enquiries and sales, taking card payments and drawing down monies from aggregator sites, whilst keeping the CEO informed of occupancy rates.
  • Provision of other services to guests, such as packed lunches and assistance in booking tours, theatre tickets and restaurants.
  • Seeking feedback from guests after their stay, encouraging them to post a review on and ensuring that it informs the overall customer experience proposition in the future.
  • Managing all food, toiletry and laundry supplies.
  • In conjunction with the Group Sales & Marketing Director, managing the continued development of the B&B's marketing strategy.
  • Promotion of the B&B on selected aggregator accommodation websites, and via regional and national tourist organisations.
  • Forging relationships with locally based companies to encourage their staff, customers and suppliers to stay at the B&B, and identify local attractions to agree joint promotional activities.
  • Ensuring that all parts of the premises are well furnished and maintained at all times.
  • Coordination of scheduled maintenance tasks and general repairs with the Property Manager.
  • Working with the Health & Safety Manager to ensure a proactive, preventative approach to Health & Safety.
  • Following a suitable programme of continuous professional development, supported by the Group CEO
