- We have an exciting new opportunity for a Health and Safety Risk Adviser to join our Shared Health and Safety Team. The Health and Safety Traded Service deliver high quality health and safety services to schools covering a wide geographical area.

***The role
The post will be home based, and the role is to deliver the Health and Safety Traded Service to educational establishments, predominantly schools, across the South of the region covering Knaresborough/Selby.
We have a particular need for an adviser ideally locally based and able to deliver to customers in the area.
However, whilst you will work and be based in a particular locality, we offer flexibility around the specific work base location and welcome applicants to discuss this with us.
We are supported with modern technology and accessibility to enable flexible and agile working from other work bases or from home and patterns of work, centred on the needs of our customers.
As Health & Safety Risk Adviser you will be focused on delivering health and safety advice and guidance to school-based staff, so we particularly welcome applicants with experience of working and undertaking health and safety duties in an educational/school-based setting.
You will deliver services to your allocated premises, manage your own workload, and build up long term relationships with your clients who will recognise and value your expertise.
To be successful you must:
- Hold the NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent qualification).
- Have effective influencing and negotiating
- Demonstrate good interpersonal skills
- Be able to work to deadlines and performance indicators
- Have the ability to work on own initiative and make evidencebased judgements
- Be able to problem solve, find pragmatic solutions in professionally challenging situations
- Demonstrate experience of working and undertaking health and safety duties in an educational/schoolbased setting
- Have a proven track record in delivering customer focused services
