Description
We are seeking an Industrial Relations Specialist to join our Employee & Industrial Relations team on an 18-24 months' FTC.
As a key member of the ER/IR team you will play a crucial role in supporting and executing our industrial relations strategy, collaborating with stakeholders, recognised trade unions and employees.
Reporting into the Head of ER/IR you will identify and support the needs of our business, driving improved performance through effective industrial relations.
The role will incorporate a diverse range of responsibilities, including:
- Working with the Head of ER/IR the implementation of IR aspects within our business efficiency agenda. Collaborate closely with relevant business areas, supporting the achievement of our objectives and fostering a high-performance culture
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with senior business leaders and stakeholders, providing coaching, advice, and challenging thinking
- Champion the implementation of IR within the supported business area, gaining stakeholder acceptance, and embedding new work designs that enhance business performance
- Proactively fostering trade union relationships, collaborating with Employee Relations, HR Business Partners, and managers across the organization
- Building strong internal and external engagement with trade unions to transform behaviours and attitudes within CrossCountry
- Contributing to the development of strategy and policy by sharing business requirements
- Collaborating effectively with Centres of Expertise, HR Shared Services and HR Business Partner teams
- Strong business/commercial approach and understanding of business needs
- Significant Industrial Relations (IR) and ER experience within a large multisite complex unionised organisation
- Relevant qualification or minimum 35 years experience to demonstrate level of competence
- Excellent relationship building skills demonstrated through proven experience of working in partnership with directors and senior business leaders
- Knowledge and experience of implementing best practice solutions
- Ability to establish professional credibility quickly
- Excellent communication skills and able to negotiate and influence effectively with all levels of an organisation
- Passion for delivering customer service with ability to articulate previous achievements through business deliverables
- Experience of managing large scale, complex change or transformation programmes e.g. Organisation Redesign, TUPE, redundancy programmes etc.
