Your New Role:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Helpdesk Operator to join MOD Whitehall.
We are responsible for delivering a 30-year PFI to provide soft services across the estate.
Within the UK Ministry of Defence head office, we look after approximately 3,600 staff and provide several self-delivered and sub contracted services.
We also manage nursery and gym facilities as well as catering, and conference and event management.
Amey provides a secure accredited IT platform for the wider PFI team and look after over 150,000 visitors a year.
The Help Desk Operator is a single point of contact for all staff when a problem or concern arises including any possible events such as flooding, power loss or staff moves.
The standard hours of work are 37.5.

You will be responsible for:
- To provide a polite, timely and efficient Help Desk service to all users of MoD Main Building
- Provide accurate and timely information to all callers on facilities services carried out within the building.
- Able to use "intelligent questioning" and question guides, to provide first time accurate and detailed information to all service providers.
- Able to log all calls correctly according to Schedules. Training will be provided.
- Ensure all responsibilities are complied with, all health & safety, environment and emergency policies and procedures and ensure that security regulations are being complied with.
What makes this role unique is assisting staff to book meeting rooms, request catering services, audio visual equipment, book in visitors, report mechanical & electrical failures, have portable equipment PAT tested, mop up spillages, provide static displays and other ad hoc requests within reason.
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Right to work in the UK
- Security Clearance (SC) is required for the position.
- Ability to deal with difficult clients and customers but also confident to escalate when necessary.
- Experience of working within a fast paced customer facing environment
- Problem solving skills.
- Confident, enthusiastic, and motivated to deliver great service.
- Time Management skills, organised and a good listener.
- Computer literate
- Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
