Description

We are looking for an apprentice to work at Nissan Technical Centre Europe based in Cranfield, Bedfordshire.

In collaboration with MK College, you will undertake a comprehensive 5-year Apprenticeship scheme and training programme to develop your engineering and finance skills, working within our Interior Planning team to develop interior components for future Nissan vehicles.

We are looking for enthusiastic and ambitious people to join our Connected Car Engineering division.

This team carries out the design and test work to ensure our vehicles can be connected to by customers smartphones and other internet provided services.

Part of the electrification journey is making sure our Connected services, which allow customers to manage/charge and monitor their vehicle, are competitive and innovative

You will be joining Nissan's comprehensive training scheme in the Connected Car test team.

This role will see you developing into a key part of the team who test and release to markets of AMEIO (Africa, Middle East, India, Europe and Oceania).

You will be planning and executing test plans for our Telematics unit, ensuring that features such as Remote Smartphone commands work correctly.

You will see the entire vehicle electronic architecture and work with experienced test engineers to solve problems when they arise.

You will learn skills such as automotive data logging/analysis, vehicle communications, mobile network communications, and software logic design and validation.

The scheme combines first-hand involvement in the Nissan state-of-the-art vehicle design & development process together with formal training as you will be enrolled on a Level 4 Software Developer Apprenticeship with Milton Keynes College.

The apprenticeship will give a broad insight into the Design & Development process within the organisation through on the job training and work based learning in the following areas:

System test for connected cars in line with project schedules covering both the vehicle and IOT cloud.
Develop testing methods & procedures to ensure robust validation of the complete telematics systems.
Confirm vehicle level quality, function & reliability standards are maintained
Cross functional working with quality, project management and engineering teams to ensure early response & transparency to concerns
Conduct root cause investigation of complex concerns on vehicles under the guidance of the component or system engineer
Creation of test reports in line with vehicle development schedule /progress milestones
Provide technical support to the production plant.

This is a well-established and highly respected scheme, with many former apprentices now working in Senior Test and Engineering roles within Nissan.

Beyond completion of the apprenticeship, endless opportunities exist to the most ambitious of individuals....overseas travel, continued personal development, growth to management levels and a route into Design or Test Engineering to name a few

What you'll need to be successful in the role;

You're keen to learn and enjoy a challenge
A good communicator, building and maintaining great working relationships is vital
Determination to succeed
An interest in vehicles, engineering, automotive technology, IT and computer networking

What you'll need to apply

1 A Level or 2 AS Levels at grade 5, a level 3 Engineering qualification or some relevant work experience
A full UK Drivers Licence or you can demonstrate a commitment to get your licence by September 2023

Salary starting at £18,67
Based in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, MK43 0DB; 4 days per week.
1 day per week at MK college.
