Description

As an HGV and Plant Fitter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, repairing, and servicing our fleet of heavy goods vehicles and construction plant machinery.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles and equipment are in top working condition to meet operational demands and safety regulations.

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs and plant machinery to identify and address potential issues.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems and perform necessary repairs and replacements.
• Complete scheduled servicing tasks, including oil changes, brake adjustments, and filter replacements, in a timely manner.
• Troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and hours worked.
• Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

• Proven experience as an HGV and/or plant fitter, with a strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on heavy vehicles and machinery.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of HGVs and plant machinery.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments.
• Flexibility to work overtime and respond to emergency breakdowns as needed.
• Valid driver's license for car and HGV and relevant certifications in HGV maintenance and repair (desired but not essential).
