The Post:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Data Management Officer to join ARHAI (Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infection) Scotland, within NHS National Services Scotland.
ARHAI Scotland leads and supports efforts to prevent healthcare associated infection (HAI) by means of guidance development, surveillance, operational support and training, covering areas such as surgical site infection and other HAI surveillance, decontamination, microbiological surveillance, research and infection prevention and control.
ARHAI Scotland also work closely with Public Health Scotland to deliver the COVID-19 response.
The post holder will play an important role in a range of activities to support the national surveillance of healthcare associated infection or antimicrobial resistance data in Scotland.
The role will predominantly involve working with and managing data delivered through the Electronic Communication of Surveillance in Scotland (ECOSS) system, but will also include collecting, managing and reporting surveillance data from other routine and non-routine sources and liaising with key stakeholders including: Scottish Reference Laboratories, policymakers, NHS Boards, clinicians and other experts.
The development and management of data systems is essential to ensure ARHAI Scotland can monitor and report on key areas such as bacteraemia, infections in ICU settings, surgical site infections, hospital outbreaks and incidents and hospital onset COVID-19 infection.
Location and Working Pattern:
Glasgow This is a National post, hosted by ARHAI Scotland. Working from home/hybrid working options are available.
Mon - Fri 37.5 hrs per week
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
