The Mary Lyon Centre at MRC Harwell (MLC) National facility for mouse genetics | Mary Lyon Centre ) is located in an expanding science and innovation campus in Oxfordshire and is an internationally renowned centre at the forefront of genetics research.

- Band 1- MRC - 3- Location 1- Harwell Campus, Oxfordshire- Salary 1- £48,802-£56,817 dependent on skills and experience- Contract Type 1- Permanent- Job Type 1- Science- Full Time / Part Time 1- Full Time- Job Description 1As a Senior Molecular Biologist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing molecular biology techniques to support our research programs.

Your role will involve designing and conducting experiments, analysing data, and presenting findings to internal and external stakeholders.


You will be based within established laboratories with significant genome engineering expertise, and manage a team of several graduate-level research assistants.

You will review data for the validation of new alleles, analyse production data to improve lab processes, and present your findings in publications.

  • PhD or equivalent in Biological Sciences or related field
  • Research experience involving the use of molecular biology
  • Strong background in molecular biology techniques, including PCR, cloning, and sequencing
  • Experience with geneediting techniques, such as CRISPR/Cas
