Overview:


As a Housing Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our private rented and social housing properties comply with all relevant regulations and standards.

Based in Manchester, you will work closely with property management teams to maintain high levels of compliance, ensuring the safety, security, and quality of our housing stock.


Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant housing regulations, including health and safety standards, building codes, fire safety regulations, and local housing laws.

Property Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of private rented and social housing properties to assess their condition, identify any maintenance or compliance issues, and ensure adherence to company policies and standards.

Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of property inspections, compliance assessments, and corrective actions taken. Ensure that all necessary documentation is up-to-date and readily accessible for audits and reporting purposes.

Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and hazards within housing properties and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively. This includes assessing risks related to fire safety, structural integrity, environmental hazards, and tenant welfare.

Tenant Communication: Communicate with tenants regarding compliance-related matters, including scheduled inspections, necessary repairs or maintenance, and safety protocols. Address tenant concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally.

Collaboration: Collaborate with property management teams, maintenance staff, contractors, and external stakeholders to address compliance issues efficiently and effectively. Provide guidance and support to ensure that compliance requirements are understood and followed.

Training and Education: Provide training and educational resources to property management teams and tenants on compliance-related topics, including safety procedures, maintenance responsibilities, and regulatory requirements.

Emergency Response: Act as a point of contact during emergency situations, such as fires, natural disasters, or building evacuations. Coordinate with relevant authorities and stakeholders to ensure the safety and well-being of tenants and properties.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • Previous experience in housing management, property compliance, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of housing regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and property management software.
  • Certification or training in relevant areas such as fire safety, building inspections, or housing law is advantageous.

Salary:
£17,500.00-£25,000.00 per year
