A fast-growing multi-sector insurance business in Cardiff is hiring for a Claims Handler to join it's Cardiff based team working on a hybrid basis, as a Claims Handler you will be responsible for reviewing customer data, documents, compliance admin and contracts.


An exciting opportunity awaits a skilled Motor Bodily Injury Claims Handler to join the team and make a direct impact on customer experience within Claims.

This role involves managing a caseload of MOJ and OIC portal claims and engaging directly with policyholders to resolve their claims.

Additionally, the individual will collaborate with stakeholders from across the business, including customer service and underwriting departments.

As a specialist in bodily injury claims, the incumbent will also be responsible for supporting and coaching junior team members and driving continuous improvement in service delivery.


This is what you'll be doing

  • Evaluate indemnity, liability, and damages in motor claims, primarily focusing on injuries but also encompassing credit hire and property damage.
  • Engage in negotiations to reach settlements for claims.
  • Persuade claimants to accept our intervention offers, managing damages, hire, and bodily injury claims.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the company's compliance procedures and risks to ensure adherence to all regulatory and legislative mandates.
  • Uphold high standards of quality, service, and productivity in line with company expectations.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and engage in performance and development discussions. Demonstrate vigilance in identifying potential fraud using knowledge of fraud indicators, SIRA, or other available tools.
  • Maintain responsibility for tracking all claims litigation.
  • Undertake any other necessary tasks to support the Claims team effectively.

What you'll bring to the team?
As a polite and friendly claims handler, you will be passionate and have previous experience providing excellent customer service alongside:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a motor claims setting, specializing in bodily injury claims.
  • Proficient understanding of current market dynamics, case law, and tools necessary for disputing thirdparty claims.
  • Excellent communication skills, adept at fostering relationships with clients, third parties, and suppliers. Demonstrated organizational prowess and a track record of effectively managing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to analyze data to discern patterns and guide decisionmaking.
  • Preferred experience in handling credithire cases. (Desirable)
  • Preferred familiarity with Scottish claims procedures. (Desirable)
  • Collaborative team player dedicated to achieving collective objectives.
  • Minimum educational requirement of 5 GCSEs, including Mathematics and English, with a grade of C or higher.
