Headcorn, Kent (Near Maidstone / Ashford)


Working Hours:6:00 - 17:00 or 7:00 - 18:00 with 1 hour lunch and 2 x 15-minute tea breaks


Salary:
£45,000 - £55,000 per annum (Depending on experience and hours available to work)

AA Lock are an established family run company based in Headcorn, Kent.

We have a mixed fleet of Volvo and MAN articulated trucks as well as 35 road tankers both fuel and GP (General Purpose), most of which we service ourselves.

There is plenty of potential for overtime and it is important to know that Saturday mornings are our busiest periods and if you are considering working with us you would need to be available to work at this time on a weekly basis


The Role - HGV Mechanic - Foreman:
This job gives you the freedom to fine tune your skill set with our fully equipped garage.

There are three pits in the workshop as well as two flat work bays, two welders (MIG & TIG), vehicle diagnostics equipment (TEXA), an exhaust extraction system, drills,cutting torches, grinders, tyre store, parts store and much more.

We also have a breakdown van that we are looking to utilise more, so there is a good variety of work available including learning more about specialist tanker equipment.

With these facilities, a friendly atmosphere and a good team of staff in the transport office helping to co-ordinate the servicing and MOT bookings, A.

You will be:

• Servicing our fleet of trucks and trailers on a weekly basis is the main objective. We have our main depot in Headcorn, Kent and a smaller yard in Grays, Essex.
• You would also be dealing with: MOT preparation, defects, punctures, tyre changes, tyre cutting, welding, drilling, cutting and much more.

Required Skills - HGV Mechanic - Foreman:

• Experience in a similar mechanical role
• Managerial/ Leadership skills
• Strong organisational skills
• The ability to work alone and manage your own time
• Technical understanding
• Good time keeping
• Diagnostic experience (TEXA preferable)
• Available Saturday mornings
• Having your own hand tools

Preferred Skills - HGV Mechanic - Foreman:

• Welding skills
• HGV Class 1 licence
• Computer Literate
