HSC1:
To provide homecooked, nutritionally balanced and varied meals for residents.

You will be responsible for ensuring that food is ordered correctly, stock rotated, and maintain the necessary standards of hygiene to maintain a safe working environment.

Thiswill include maintaining accurate and clear records in line with Food Safety Regulations.

  • To prepare and cook a wellbalanced, nutritious, and varied diet within a controlled hygienic environment and to the required standard
  • To determine the quantities of food to produce a given dish according to the prescribed portion in relation to the number of residents in Unit
  • To ensure that you are complying with the food hygiene regulations when handling and preparing food
  • To be involved in the serving of meals and to be aware of the resident's dietary and cultural needs and respond to their comments and requests in respect of the menu.
  • To ensure that all food is stored correctly and used within the prescribed period, including disposing of food past it's sell by date
  • To ensure that the kitchen is kept clean during and after use
  • To ensure that you comply with Health & Safety legislation including handling cleaning agents appropriately
  • To ensure that all items of kitchen equipment are correctly and safely in place and accounted for
  • To inform Management if any kitchen equipment is missing
  • To contribute to special occasions and theme days
  • To prepare weekly, or more frequent, if necessary, lists of all food items required and to ensure this list is given to the appropriate person for ordering.
  • To ensure that all residents 's are treated with equal respect, kindness, and courtesy always and that their dignity is maintained
  • To ensure that you are familiar with all aspects of Health and Safety relating to the role

Essential Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS; valid within the last 3 years
  • Can provide 5 years referencing
  • Shifts are 8am 6pm including weekend work
