Global Category Leader, Travel, Meetings & Cards:

To build a long-term strategy for the category, influence behavioural change across all business units and all levels of the entire GSK organisation and drive more value from the supplier relationships that we have across the category.


Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create and execute comprehensive global sourcing strategies for travel and meetings with clear and detailed 3-year execution plans to deliver value to GSK
  • Manage Sourcing Strategy to ensure structured competitive bidding events with travel & expenses suppliers including spot buys, RFQs, reverse auctions and RFPs
  • Negotiate, create, execute and manage effective contracts with suppliers (where required) that will allow GSK to manage risk and maximize opportunity globally.
  • Work closely with Travel and Meetings Operations Team to ensure seamless execution of sourcing strategies
  • Work with large and complex data sets to draw actionable insights to drive financial business benefits as well as making travel easier at GSK
  • Influence key stakeholders and business partners to support strategy development, endorse recommended strategies, support execution and agree how benefit delivery will be budgeted
  • Create budgets and performance manage the delivery of the strategic initiatives
  • Build strategic relationships with key suppliers and lead delivery of improvement plans to ensure value is driven from these relationships.
  • Responsible for the savings for the T, E and Meetings sign off and tracking
  • Lead and deliver category plans working closely with operations teams

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Must be substantially experienced in global sourcing for air, hotel, card and meetings. Knowledge of Ariba would be required.
  • Previous experience of leading a team is a must.
  • Extensive supplier management is a must.
