Description

The Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre (WBIC) is offering an exciting postdoctoral opportunity to join a broad, friendly and impactful multi-disciplinary team.

The WBIC is at the interface of research and clinical investigation, and supports a large number of local and multi-centre projects harnessing MRI to answer biomedical research questions.

This role will support magnetic resonance imaging acquisition design and deployment across multiple sites in the TBI-REPORTER research network.

TBI-REPORTER aims to integrate different sources of research data relating Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), harmonising both data acquisition and curation methods.

The postholder will be required to travel to other sites as required to assist with the development across the network both at the initial sites and others as the collaboration grows.

The network includes a variety of manufacturer platforms (Siemens, GE, Phillips) and field strengths (3T, 7T) and hardware versions.

The postholder will be responsible for considering possible options for both "core" and "advanced" MRI protocols, with a view to ensuring that they can be reliably and robustly used across different centres and data usefully pooled.

This may include optimisation of pulse sequences, sequence installation, testing in phantoms and in vivo, assessing reproducibility and SNR, and protocol implementation.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 24 months in the first instance.

The University has a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK.
