Summary


Hornby St Margaret's Church of England Primary School is a very happy and welcoming Christian school, having a strong partnership with the Church, Governors, parents and the village community.

The Governors are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, skilled and talented Teaching Assistant for a temporary period.

The post has arisen because our current TA will be on maternity leave from May 2024 for a period of time.

The post is term time only hours per week.

  • Support our Reception and KS1 children, particularly a child with an EHCP.
  • Support and enhance learning through play in continuous provision.
  • Focus on Mathematics and English teaching, in particular, as relevant to the EYFS and KS1 curriculum.
  • Deliver small group phonics sessions.
  • Be able to work with our children and make a positive contribution to the continued development of our school and our pursuit of excellence.
Essential Qualifications

NVQ level 2 or equivalent.

Desirable Qualifications

Other educational/professional qualifications.

Paediatric 1st aid.

Essential Experience

Effective teaching and learning with children in EYFS / KS1 at all ability levels

Experience of delivering small group phonics sessions.

Experience of supporting and enhancing learning through play in continuous provision.

Desirable Experience

A proven track record of working with children for at least a year.

Mixed age experience.

SEN experience

Enthusiasm for and interest in using the outdoors to enhance the curriculum.
