    Maintenance Engineer with Electrical Bias

    We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our client's manufacturing team in Huddersfield.

    As part of a four-person engineering team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of our production facilities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform routine planned maintenance on electrical systems and machinery to prevent unexpected failures.
    • Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency repairs, diagnosing and resolving electrical faults efficiently.
    • Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers and production teams to troubleshoot and optimise equipment performance.
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and electrical regulations, maintaining up-to-date documentation for inspections and audits.
    • Implement and support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
    • Conduct fault finding and root cause analysis on electrical components, including motors, PLCs, sensors, and wiring.
    • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment.
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, spare parts usage, and system modifications.
    • Support training initiatives for operators and junior staff on electrical safety and best practices.

    Requirements:

    • NICEIC qualification or equivalent that allows you to sign off your own work.
    • Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
    • Strong knowledge of electrical fault-finding, PLC programming, and industrial automation systems.
    • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance.
    • Strong communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
