Education To develop and lead the AHP clinical placement expansion implementation plan across the Trust in order to achieve and exceed targets, and use evaluation methods to evaluate the outcome of the programme work.

To understand and interpret complex and often contentious information in order to present real time information to senior manager, AHP leads and boards Communicate with a wide range of external organisations using persuasive and motivational skills to progress work streams and support Oxleas objectives.

Coordinate highly complex clinical placement data collation and create reports for dissemination and formal presentations Develop and oversee community of practice groups within the trust for special interest groups or skills for AHPs To strengthen and build on training and education opportunities with Health Education England (HEE), relevant to the needs of Oxleas AHPs.

To develop a framework/ business plan to support AHP ongoing education and development, and implement this within the Trust Contribute to and influence The AHP Strategy surrounding workforce to ensure that Oxleas can be a leader of professional practice.


Initiate, organise, facilitate and participate in events such as workshops as identified by and in collaboration with AHP Team leads, HoPs or AHP Lead Explore the need for, develop processes and address barriers to implementing new education and development programmes/ courses to improve AHP practice and education across the Trust for AHPs Formulate a process and lead on the plans for annual commissioning of post-registration education programmes for AHP staff from university partners via centrally-held HEE education contracts, ensuring best use of the Trusts funding allocations and equity of access.

Ensure that national policies relating to AHP education are effectively translated into Trust guidance, guidelines, protocols and education programmes using persuasive and motivational approaches to ensuring these are embedded in practice Liaise with Heads of Profession and Trust Boards regarding highly sensitive and complex workforce information and be able to negotiate for positive outcomes for the AHP workforce Evaluate the impact of complex education programmes, measuring their impact on the trust and clinical performance to continuously improving the quality of programmes.

Negotiate and develop a business plan to establish sustainable in-house CPD opportunities for qualified and nonqualified AHP staff in collaboration with the Trust Lead AHP.

Use critical analysis and evaluation skills to insure best use of finances in providing optimal learning outcomes and value for money.


To promote equality of access to training and development for all staff in line with the Trusts Strategy on Building a Fairer Oxleas.

Workforce Support the introduction of complex new roles, inclusive of but not limited to AHP Apprenticeships; New Support staff roles and Advanced Clinical Practitioners.

The post holder will also analyse complex information to critically evaluate the impact of these roles and inform Senior Leads of the findings.

Collaborate with AHP Preceptorship Leads to expand and improve the Band 5 workforce development programme and improve retention and career progression.


Lead and expand the implementation of the AHP support workforce development framework and use expert motivational skills to engage support staff in practice development Demonstrate highly specialist skills in negotiating for results within projects and motivating positive change in all areas of work.

Lead the development of effective short and long-term AHP workforce planning through timely access to accurate AHP workforce supply and demand, data and intelligence.

Support the recruitment process of AHPs where required using in depth knowledge and complex data to inform and advise senior managers regarding future planning.

Develop and lead the programme of continued growth of band 5 posts across AHP Professions.


Lead on any workforce audits or quality improvement and interpret complex data to inform and negotiate the direction of travel.

Communicate / present this information to trust leads to influence positive workforce plans. Develop and promote initiatives that embed equality, diversity and inclusioninto workforce plans, embedding the Trust as an Anchor Institution. Work with placement and preceptorship leads to reduce AHP student attritionand improve retention of students and new graduates.

Provide comprehensive reports into AHP Board and Therapies executive Committee regarding the AHP Workforce agenda and targets. Support the Trust Lead AHP and Therapies Director to co-ordinate monthly workforce reports. Deputise for Trust Lead AHP and represent the Trust in both internal and external meetings regarding workforce.
