***We currently have an opportunity for a

Data and Compliance Auditor to join our team based

in Exeter. Joining us on a

full-time permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of

£30,000 - £35,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.


About the role
***As a Data and Compliance you will be a key member of the Risk and Compliance team. You will be part of a highly visible, well respected function providing risk and compliance activity to management and the Board on the reliability of key internal and external data submissions as well as participating in reviews of effectiveness of the South West Water's management systems.


As part of the Risk and Compliance function focussing on data quality, you will be responsible for performing second line internal quality assurance on both regular and ad hoc data submissions and assist in liaising with external data assurance providers to ensure publications and submissions live up to our values of being trusted.


As part of the wider Risk and Compliance team, there will also be the opportunity to be involved in management systems audits, including site based audits.


These responsibilities will expose you to a range of business activities and operational sites as well as the opportunity to develop wider follow up action plans with management.

This is a role where you will have the opportunity to bring about tangible change and help South West Water to continuously improve the way that it operates.


What you'll be doing:


  • Plan and perform second line assurance assignments including data submission audits
  • Where required assist the business with process/methodology documentation (given experience obtained through role)
  • Work with the wider Risk and Compliance team to ensure the action log is uptodate and follow up of nonconformances and observations arising from data audits as well as management system audits
  • Complete and agree audit reports with those responsible for areas audited, and relevant management
  • Participate in the Company's quality and environmental site based audit programme

What we are looking for:


  • 5 GCSE grades, C or above including Maths and English
  • A Level qualification (or equivalent)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Previous relevant data oversight or audit/related experience
  • Good interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, able to communicate within and outside of direct colleagues
  • Strong analytical ability including competent Excel skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and demonstrate a 'can do' attitude'
  • Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity
  • Able to recommend effective, practical and commercial solutions to issues
