Job Description:


Our key criteria include relevant experience within the renewable energy industry, enthusiasm for planning and working on clean energy projects, and a commitment to achieving our Statkraft goals: designing, specifying, and developing our Greener Grid Parks for successful investment decision, construction, and operation on a zero-carbon grid.

The role has the potential to evolve to support our ambitious programme of new battery, hydrogen, wind, and solar project developments.

Working with the Principal Planning Manager, Project Managers as well as external consultants, you will be responsible for:

  • Undertake planning appraisals for new Greener Grid Park sites as well as potential expansion areas of existing sites under development.
  • Proactive in identifying, procuring and managing the project consents resource to ensure consents and programme delivery and value for money.
  • Supporting, advising and guiding project teams in relation to the design and development of projects, ensuring the implementation of effective planning consenting strategies.
  • Obtaining consents (mainly under the Town & Country Planning Act) for development projects by leading and managing the delivery of project consents related activities through the implementation of best practice, process and guidance and effective engagement with relevant external stakeholders and local communities.
  • Support with planning strategies alongside the Principal Planning Manager.
  • Undertake monitoring and discharge of condition duties to ensure timely commencement of development.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Statkraft project development activities and processes through lessons learnt sessions, knowledge transfer and mentoring of Project Developers and contribute to the planning expertise on other projects (e.g. Wind and Solar).

Qualifications:


  • Passion, enthusiasm and drive for achieving UK Climate Change targets and consenting.
  • You will have a degree or equivalent experience and qualifications in town planning, environmental assessment or related disciplines.
  • Ideally a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) or Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS
  • Planning & Development).
  • A good understanding of the UK planning system especially from a development management perspective with strong planning research skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience of dealing with local authority planning departments and key stakeholders.
  • Excellent understanding of the consents, stakeholder management, lands and environmental disciplines, and the relationships between them.
  • Strong Project Management skills, specifically in relation to time, cost, scope, procurement and managing consents and environmental resources across multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentational skills with experience in presenting information to diverse audiences (including project teams and stakeholders, internally and externally).
  • Experience in the infrastructure / energy sector would be beneficial.
