DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure accurate input of patient details when entering data onto information databases and Patient Administration System (Medway), including routine use of the case note tracking system.

Clinic preparation File all relevant paperwork into patient paper case notes and / or electronic case notes as appropriate. To work on ones own initiative as well as part of a team. To gain a good knowledge of Health Records systems and Medway.

To have the ability to communicate with all medical staff, research nurses medical secretaries and other hospital departments. To be aware of the working practices in the various departments throughout the Trust. To offer cover during periods of annual leave and sickness for other Clerical Officers whilst maintaining their own role.

Work with managers and administrative staff to review working practices, identify new improved ways of working, find solutions to problems and improve quality and range of services.

To gain a good understanding of the different specialties.

Undertake general clerical tasks as delegated by the Clinical PA's and Clinical Administrators, to contribute to the smooth running of the team.

Follow risk management procedures at all times including the identification, assessment and management of risk within the division. To abide by all Trust policies and Procedures.


To be responsible for own professional /personal development, including participating in ongoing appraisal and personal development planning Any other duties as and when required.
