    Job Title: Production Engineer

    About Us:

    Safran Helicopter Engines is the world's leading manufacturer of rotorcraft turbines, dedicated exclusively to this market. Our UK facility is the European Maintenance Centre Hub for the SHE Group, performing level 1 to level 3 maintenance and repairs on complex helicopter engine components.

    We partner with our global customer base, providing technical expertise and broader support in both fixed wing and rotary wing markets.

    About the Job:

    The Production Engineer will industrialize design changes or introduce new products into Safran HE UK's new production activity, while providing ongoing technical support to the existing product portfolio.

    Responsibilities include defining all aspects of the production method, including manufacturing instructions, stage drawings, CNC programs, tools, and gauges as required.

    The successful candidate will ensure robust quality standards and lowest total cost, while achieving project actions / objectives / milestones on time, within budget, and according to customer and company requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Interpret customer documentation, specifications, drawings, and assembly & test schedules to ensure robust manufacturing processes.
    • Create process & procedures for part and sub-assembly production, including tooling definition.
    • Validate manufacturing processes according to SHEUK and customer procedures.
    • Maintain and control instructions, stage drawings, tool, and workholding drawings.
    • Support the NCR process through corrective action implementation.
    • Review customer product and specification change documentation to ensure changes are interpreted and implemented into the New Production documentation system.
    • Request quotation details for manufacturing cost input.
    • Specify equipment and tooling needed for New Production products.
    • Support capital justification for new equipment.

    Requirements:

    1. Recognised Engineering Qualification – Minimum HNC
    2. Minimum 4-5 years' experience of 3D CAD system preferred
    3. Minimum 4-5 years' experience of CAM / offline programming system preferred
    4. Working Knowledge of Solid works & Edge CAM would be an advantage
    5. Knowledge of Production Engineering, either from Aerospace (preferred) or a regulated high tech manufacturing sector would be an advantage.
    6. Ability to create a plan and deliver to agreed deadlines.
    7. Strong IT skills including MS Office applications
    8. Experience of creating and modifying machine programs for 5 axis machining centres and mill/turn lathes (Heidenhain & FANUC controls)
    9. Experience of creating and updating technical documents.
    10. Experience of 5 why's / Ishikawa and/or 8D problem solving tools
    11. Experience of AS9102 or APQP would be an advantage
    12. Experience of PFMEA risk management would be an advantage
    13. Experience of SAP ERP system would be an advantage
