Wellington Road Family Practice (WRFP) is seeking to appoint a part time Phlebotomist to join our fantastic family practice, based in Yate, South Gloucestershire.
Cadbury Heath Healthcare Partnership is responsible for WRFP and Cadbury Heath Healthcare, both practices operate independently.
Reporting to the Nurse Manager and as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, the post holder will be responsible for performing venepuncture, as requested by the clinical team, to the entitled patient population.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Obtaining patient consent for the collection of a blood sample
- Performing venepuncture in accordance with practice protocols
- Maintaining accurate patient records on EMIS.
- The correct labelling, packaging and storing of samples
- Ensuring samples are sent to the laboratory in a timely manner
- Working collaboratively with the nursing team, seeking guidance when necessary for patient related matters
- Participate in practice audit as directed by the audit lead
- Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care
- Support and participate in shared learning within the practice
- Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota
Our practice is in the town of Yate, which lies equidistant (12 miles) between the vibrant, cultural, and historic cities of Bristol and Bath.
