A fantastic new opportunity working as a full-time Payments Officer role based in Oldham. This 2-month temporary role has an excellent hourly rate on offer between £ £14.00 per hour.

My client is a non-governmental organisation that assists peoples with a humanitarian focus in local communities to implement a safe environment to live in.


Description

The key responsibilities of aPayments Officer will include, but may not be limited to;

  • Ensure that the finance subledger is accurately maintained
  • Relevant control accounts are reconciled
  • Ensure all information regarding financial data is passed on to the department and acted on correctly, in a timely manner
  • Processing high volumes of electronic and manual invoices
  • Ensuring internal and external queries are dealt with promptly
  • Completion of payment runs to suppliers are paid correctly
  • Process CHAPS payments and maintain Supplier/ Tenant bank details
  • Assist in the development of plans and timetables that allow timely information and processing deliveries
  • Suggest improvements to Payment processes
  • Operate internal controls and to identify and rectify errors
  • Support/ train business units to manage the end to end P2P
  • Support the internal and external audit

Profile

The successfulPayments Officer must possess the following skill set and experience.

  • Background working Not for Profit and Charities or Housing Associations
  • Proven customer service background
  • Good management and organisational skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Good attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
  • Knowledge of Oracle Financial desirable
  • Able to challenge, engage and influence
  • Proven knowledge of rent accounting, housing and housing benefit regulations and legislations
  • Ability to work as a team and adapt to change
