The Post

As the Learning and Teaching Coordinator you will be responsible for delivering a range of activities relating to the administration of academic programmes and other faculty activities.


You will coordinate and supervise tasks within your team, adopting a continuous improvement approach, and ensure that systems, processes and procedures are customer focused.


A good team player, you will be process driven, can demonstrate organisational proficiency, can prioritise a range of tasks in an agile and dynamic workplace, and be able to communicate at different levels.

Description of Duties
Experiences

  • Provide administrative support across a range of academic programmes and activities
  • Delivery of an efficient and effective service and experience to staff and students
  • Coordinate the delivery of faculty teaching and examination activities
  • Support committees, working groups and other meetings, as required
  • Support preparations for internal external quality assurance purposes
  • Support assigned financial tasks
  • Building and maintaining relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders, sharing good practice and enable smooth running of your areas of responsibility

Essential Criteria

Qualifications:


  • Educated to a minimum of HND level, or equivalent professional experience
Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven experience working in a busy, customer focused administrative environment
  • Experience of managing sensitive/confidential issues with tact and diplomacy
  • Knowledge of data protection and equality legislation and an appreciation of the potential impact of this legislation on the duties of the role
Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills and ability to prioritise a demanding workload under pressure, while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy
  • Creative and positive attitude with a commitment to providing a highquality service

Desirable Criteria
Knowledge & Experience

  • Previous experience of working in Higher or Further Education and/or uptodate knowledge of issues relating to the student lifecycle and experience
  • Experience of working with complex (preferably student) administration systems (e.g. SITS, CMIS, Blackboard etc.)
  • Experience of preparing agendas, writing minutes and taking follow up action
  • Experience of continuous improvement methodologies
Skills & Attributes

  • Ability to delegate work and to direct and manage staff resource
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures and offer highquality advice to colleagues
  • Highly developed IT skills including knowledge and experience of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel; maintaining records in and reporting from databases; and using webbased

Part of the Student, Academic, and Corporate Services (SACS) Directorate, Student and Faculty Operations (SFO) has a remit to design, lead and deliver an informed, effective, and integrated professional service for the five faculties, which in turn will benefit both the staff and student experience.

SFO delivery ranges from strategic level support and resource planning and management for Deans, to the breadth and depth of the administration and technical service of learning, teaching and research in faculties, and the fluent management of the Student Administration lifecycle from enrolment to graduation.
