Please note this recruitment campaign is for a WORKER CONTRACT_**The General Optical Council is seeking to recruit Education Visitor Panellists (EVP).

The key purpose of an EVP is to assist in the development and delivery of approval and quality assurance and enhancement activities of optical qualifications to uphold our core purpose of protecting the public and promoting high standards.


We are seeking EVPs who can analyse and interpret complex information and evidence, work together whilst showing regard to the views and advice of others and think logically to achieve well founded, evidence-based and impartial decisions.

Remuneration


You will receive a
daily fee of £319 or
hourly fee of £46 for all work carried as an EVP and a
daily fee of £223 or
hourly £32 when attending
training.


You may claim travel and subsistence expenses, which are properly and necessarily incurred in carrying out your role and responsibilities as an EVP in line with our travel and subsistence policy and rates.

Time commitment


As an EVP you will be required to commit to a range of 10-18 days of work per year, however it is possible that the number of days may fluctuate depending on the level of activities scheduled to take place.

Location

Work may be allocated in a physical or remote capacity.

Arrangements for each activity will be agreed with the GOC executive at the time the piece of work is set.

Activities may take place in-person at a number of locations across the UK and there will be occasions when you will be required to attend the GOC offices in London.


To facilitate remote quality assurance and enhancement activities, it is expected that you will have reliable internet access, your own computer or laptop, and use of Microsoft Office.
