The starting salary for this position is £26,080 per annum based on a 36-hour working week.


Surrey County Council's 'Children, Families and Learning' (CFL) directorate provides a range of highly specialist services to vulnerable children and young people.

Services are delivered directly to children and their families within extensive statutoryframeworks.

Staff working in these areas need specialist knowledge in order to deliver effective services to these high risk and high need groups.


We are looking for a full time
Senior Team Administrator to work in a varied and interesting role within the CFL Directorate.

As an experienced administrator, you will directly support the Fostering Service with their complex and confidentialwork which will require a wide range of proven administrative experience.


The Senior Team Administrator will be expected to play an instrumental role in the delivery of the service and make a positive contribution towards improving the lives of children in Surrey.

You should have sound knowledge around taking minutes, be comfortable enteringdata and formulating statistical reports and be a confident communicating with others.

You will be highly organised, willing to take responsibility and use initiative. You will also be confident in setting your own priorities and meeting deadlines.

You will make sure that everything is in place to guarantee that all runs smoothly for the processeswhich you support and, as a Senior Team Administrator, will guide others to ensure daily workflow is completed to timescales.

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential along with a high level of written and oral communication skills.

You will have experience of working with highly confidential information in a customer/service focused environment and have the ability to workunder pressure and to tight deadlines.


  • A solid background in administration, with strong minute taking skills
  • Experience of working in a busy environment
  • Experience of managing workflow and/or leading more junior staff
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Confidence, organisational skills and ability to implement a proactive approach to their work
  • Excellent IT skills and proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and MS Teams
This role is offered as an agile working opportunity.

The successful applicant will be required to attend the office a minimum of two days per week, or as other specified by the discretion of the line manager for the proper completion of their duties.
