The Company

BSV are recruiting a Senior Mechanical Estimator on behalf of one of our Construction Consultancy clients'. Our client has a predominate presence within the healthcare, education, residential and commercial sectors.

Established over 40 years ago and with 150 staff operating from their Head Office, they require a Intermediate - Senior Mechanical Estimator to join their busy pre construction team.

The Role

Responsibilities:

Ensure accurate estimates and tenders are produced in a timely and professional manner (Mechanical Division)
Estimate all jobs within the agreed contract performance targets in line with the company's pricing guidelines, working closely with senior management and producing regular updates
Work with all sub-contractors to ensure accurate and timely quotes are provided with in line with the agreed contract performance targets
Prepare coherent, cost effective and profitable bids / tenders and conduct benchmarking evaluation on tenders received
Submit internal tender analysis prior to submission for sign off
Prepare tender submission in line with the client specification and evaluation
Maintain tracker for all projects from estimate stage throughout the project life cycle
Work closely with the project managers for project updates on live works in terms of programme, cost, revenue and risk and meet with clients to ensure we are quoting the most cost effective options to meet their requirements in tender presentations
Prepare monthly statistics
Understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time, understand and comply with policies and procedures

Qualifications & Experience

Technically competent with a good understanding of mechanical installation methods and pricing
Must have minimum 5 years Mechanical Estimating experience, preferably with experience working on projects worth over £5m or more
Strong mathematical and IT skills
Excellent Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point skills, proficent use of Bill soft and estimate
Attention to detail
Full confidence in accuracy of estimates/tenders produced
Ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks at the same time
Ability to work as part of a team
You must be elgible to live and work in the UK. Salary dependant upon experience.
