Maximus Solutions is currently looking for a
Assistant Estimator to join a thriving team in Canterbury. This opportunity will be to join a growing sub-contractor who have projects ranging from £2000 to £2 million. This role has a clear progression path and multiple projects in the pipeline.


Responsibilities:


  • Reviewing tender documents, collecting quotations from subcontractors & suppliers.
  • Utilising specialist estimating software to determine material costs and BOQs
  • Liaise and build relationships with main contractor throughout the project
  • Write up final quotations for clients and follow up where appropriate
  • Ensure the internal CRM system is regularly updated
  • Keeping budgets of live jobs
  • Carrying out site visits/meetings
  • Measurements/take off building materials quantities, produce schedules and preparation of quantities for the use in the procurement process.
  • Assist in the evaluation of payments to be made to subcontractors, consultants and suppliers. Prepare and coordinate labour only payments.
  • Secure place on tender lists with new and existing clients

Requirements:


  • 2 years experience within the construction industry
  • Effective communication skills are essential
  • Must be able to read and understand technical drawings with high attention to detail
  • Good Microsoft skills
  • Knowledge of estimating software e.g. Bluebeam/Active Takeoff
  • Ability to work from own initiative
  • Ability to manage time to ensure that tight deadlines are met
  • Full driving license

Salary:
£25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
