We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our esteemed team at a reputable Special Educational Needs school in Oldham.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of students with special needs and supporting their educational development.


Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with the class teacher to provide support and assistance to students with special educational needs.
  • Implement individualized learning plans and strategies to meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Promote an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
  • Assist students with personal care, mobility, and other daily activities as required.
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum, adapting materials, and providing additional assistance during lessons.
  • Help create and maintain a positive and stimulating learning environment, utilizing appropriate resources and aids.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students, providing feedback and reporting to the class teacher.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including therapists and support staff, to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Promote social and emotional development, helping students build confidence, selfesteem, and positive relationships.
  • Assist with the organization of educational outings, extracurricular activities, and events.

Requirements:


  • Relevant experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • A genuine passion for working with individuals with special needs and a commitment to their overall wellbeing and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience to effectively support students facing challenges.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students and handle unforeseen situations.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and practices relating to special educational needs would be advantageous.
  • A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs or a related field is desirable, but not essential.
