An exciting opportunity for an experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant to join a leading service based business on the outskirts of the Harrogate area.

A salary of up to £23,500 is on offer alongside a comprehensive benefits package including hybrid workingfor two days a week.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has had exposure and experience of the full accounts payable/purchase ledger process to join a business where you can really add value and make a difference.

As a Purchase Ledger Assistant, you will be primarily responsible for dealing with a high volume of purchase invoices, dealing with queries and ultimately ensuring that the companies purchase ledger process runs smoothly and efficiently at all times.

Key responsibilities of the Purchase Ledger Assistant will include:

  • Processing high volumes of purchase invoices on a daily basis
  • First point of contact for supplier queries and ensuring any issues are dealt with promptly
  • Carrying out supplier statement reconciliations
  • Processing credit card transactions
  • Setting up new suppliers and assisting with credit checks
  • Managing the purchase ledger inbox and assisting with distribution of workload
  • Dealing with both external and internal stakeholders
  • Supporting the wider team with the payment run process
  • Other ad hoc duties as required


We are keen to speak with individuals who have previous experience in a similar position, you may be a Purchase Ledger Assistant or Accounts Payable Assistant looking to join a business where you are able to develop and progress.

Finance Assistants/ AccountsAssistants will also be considered if you have some experience of the purchase ledger process.

  • Have experience in a similar purchase ledger based role
  • Be able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Have excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Excel and will ideally be comfortable with Pivot tables and V-Lookups
  • Be forward thinking and will be able to use their own initiative and think outside of the box
  • Have a desire to add value and question existing processes when needed


Based on the outskirts of Harrogate this role is commutable from Leeds, Wetherby, Ripon and further afield due to the company offering hybrid working.

This role is extremely accessible via public transport and is in walking distance from a train stationand is on a variety of bus routes from both West and North Yorkshire.
