Description
Responsibilities:
If accepted for this internship, you will be collaborating with machine learning and social science researchers, designers, and engineers, to understand and explore the problem space.
It is expected that the findings will be presented to Microsoft research and product development groups, in the form of an audiovisual presentation and/or white paper, which could potentially be developed into an academic publication.
Qualifications:
- Are enrolled in at least a Masters program (PhD preferred) at the time of the internship (Summer 2023), in Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Human-Computer Interaction, or another field studying the relationship between artificial intelligence, people, and/or society;
- Have demonstrated experience in thinking through complex issues related to FATE (Fairness, Accountability, Transparency, and Ethics) and/or organizational data and knowledge, ideally via past publications and projects;
- Can synthesize research literature and identify research questions and implications;
- Can conduct analysis and experiments using existing machine learning models, such as large language models;
- Enjoy collaboration and feedback;
- Are clear and articulate communicators;
- Are capable of conducting research independently.
