This is a part-time, 0.5 FTE appointment.

  • This is an exciting opportunity to come and work at the Oxford International Centre for Publishing, delivering courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels to a highly international class of students. Ranked second in the 202 _Guardian_ league table for Journalism, the Centre has an excellent reputation.
We are looking for a lecturer in journalism who can teach in one or more of the following areas:
multimedia, graphics journalism, and broadcast journalism.

This post would suit an academic working in publishing studies or a professional who would like to move into teaching and research.


You will be responsible for:


  • Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules
  • Research and scholarly activity in publishing
  • Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate projects and dissertations
  • Supporting and developing consultancy work
  • Contributing to curriculum development

You should have:


  • Experience of teaching and/or training
  • Recent and relevant commercial experience in journalism
  • Excellent skills in digital, video, and audio
  • Excellent skills in Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent
  • Commitment to undertake research and consultancy
  • Strong teamworking, IT and communication skills
