SEND Teaching Assistant Needed for Small School in Burton - September Start


Are you passionate about working with children with additional needs? We're seeking a dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a small, supportive school in Burton, starting in September.

Previous experience working with children with additional needs is highly desirable. Whether through professional roles or personal experience, your understanding and empathy are invaluable.

While not essential, experience with the following types of special needs would be beneficial:

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Speech and Language Disorders
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Physical Disabilities
  • Sensory Processing Disorders
  • Adaptability: The ability to adapt to the individual needs of each child is crucial. Flexibility in your approach and creativity in finding solutions are key qualities.
  • Empathy and Patience: Working with children with additional needs requires a deep sense of empathy and patience. Your ability to understand and support each child's unique challenges will be fundamental to their progress.
  • Team Player: Collaboration with colleagues, parents, and other professionals is essential. You should be able to work effectively as part of a team to provide the best possible support for the children.

Responsibilities
As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Individual Support: Provide personalized support to children with additional needs, fostering their independence and confidence.
  • Classroom Assistance: Assist the class teacher with classroom activities and routines, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Behavior Management: Implement behavior management strategies to support positive behavior and social skills development.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and assess the progress of the children, adjusting support strategies as needed to ensure their ongoing development.

Hours and Start Date

  • Full-Time: Monday to Friday, with specific hours to be confirmed.
  • Start Date: September. This is your chance to start fresh and make a positive impact from the beginning of the academic year.

Job Types:

Pay:
£18,000.00-£21,000.00 per year
