Health and Safety Coordinator
Northern Essex

£30,000-£35,000

Full Time (40 Hours), Permanent


JGT Recruitment have partnered with prestigious group of businesses manufacturing, importing, supplying, and distributing goods throughout the UK and Europe.

Due to the growth and development of the Group's businesses, a new opportunity has arisen within the SHEQ Team to support the business across all aspects of Health and Safety.

The Health and Safety Coordinator will be reporting to and working closely with the SHEQ Manager to support in establishing, managing and monitoring of processes procedures, training, and management systems for its group companies


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and developing an accredited Integrated Management System (certified to ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001)
  • Support in conducting internal and compliance audits, report on findings and see any actions through to completion
  • Support in conducting risk assessments and special assessments as required by the business, including display screen equipment, manual handling, lone working, new and expectant mothers, young workers etc.
  • Competing nonconformance reports, report on findings and see any actions through to completion
  • Ensuring that all sites are completing operator preuse checks and reporting on any defects
  • Ensure all appropriate documents in relation to Health and Safety, Environmental, and Quality etc. are filed accordingly and kept updated.
  • Managing and monitoring of contractors and suppliers and ensuring that all provided documentation meets company and legislative requirements
  • Any other ad hoc health and safety duties as required

Qualifications/Experience:

and/or

hold a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent (or working towards a recognised Health and Safety Qualification) or IOSH Managing Safely as a minimum


Essential Requirements:


  • Ability to prioritse and manage own workload and able to work without supervision
  • Welldeveloped written and verbal communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Able to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint, Word Skills
