Part-time 21.6 hours per week (0.6 FTE)

Job Purpose:

To maintain the statutory financial reporting for B:Music and its trading subsidiary B:Music (Enterprises) Ltd.

Managing one Finance Assistant, the role holder is responsible for accurately maintaining and improving financial processes, systems and controls whilst working with departmental managers to drive forward activity and operations in line with charitable objectives.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Manage the Charity's balance sheet controls and reconciliation processes.
  • Manage the Restricted and Designated fund accounting monthly.
  • Manage the Charity's cash flow process and reporting.
  • Maintain monthly balance sheets for B:Music and its trading subsidiary, including intercompany charges, for inclusion in the Group Management Accounts report.
  • Monthly processing and reconciliation of Food & Beverage trading including stock reconciliation.
  • Preparation of the VAT return and other stakeholder returns on a regular basis.
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts for B:Music Group and its trading subsidiary and assist with the annual audit process.
  • Liaison with external accountants to support the preparation of the Corporation Tax returns.
  • To engage with and undertake learning and development and continuous professional development for the role as required by the organisation.
  • Duties and responsibilities will vary from time to time and the postholder will be expected to perform all the other such duties as are reasonably comparable.

Person Specification:


  • AAT qualification or equivalent, with at least three years' experience of working in a similar role.
  • High level of numeracy and good attention to detail with competency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills combined with selfmotivation and enthusiasm. Ability to work on their own and as part of the team and to communicate effectively across a wide range of stakeholders from Trustees to funders, colleagues, and professional advisors.
  • Good planning, organisational and time management skills. With the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines with competing priorities.
  • Prior knowledge of Charity accounting.
  • Achievement of/working towards an accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, ACMA)
