Helix Offshore Crewing Services Ltd are currently recruiting for 4x Materials Controllers to work within Helix Offshore Crewing Services Ltd, 2x back-to-back on our vessel Seawell and 2x back-to-back on our vessel Well Enhancer.
The Materials Controller is directly responsible for the efficient control, management and execution of offshore logistics, freight operations, and control of stores.
Reporting to the OIM/Master the Materials Controller has responsibilities across the Offshore Management Team (OMT) for maintaining the materials process and vessel activities for all departments and will have a functional communication line to the Supply Chain department and Vessel Superintendent ashore.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist the OMT in the management of the information required for stores, spares and R&M, for inclusion in the Planned Maintenance System.
- Communicate with Helix purchasing department and Vessel Superintendent to coordinate delivery and part lead time to allow efficient control of vessel stores.
- Correctly prepare/receipt in accordance with international, regional, client and Helix requirements; shipping manifests, delivery notes, dangerous goods notes, waste transfer notes, commercial invoices and import/export notices for equipment and provisions shipped to/from the vessel.
- Prepare and package goods correctly for safe transportation by road/sea/air freight as per local requirements.
- Assist with cargo operations and ensure shipping containers packed and secured correctly.
- Produce and transmit requisitions.
- Confirm deliveries are as per the relevant documentation and POs.
- Be responsible for the distribution of certification which accompanies shipped items to the relevant heads of department.
- Be responsible for the stores areas and organisation, carry out stock checks physically and via the Planned Maintenance System to ensure spares minimum stock levels are maintained.
- Responsible for sending updates and transmittals of information/data.
- Responsible for keeping relevant record/certification of all power tools onboard.
- Assist OMT with Document Control.
- Collate Vessel Mail and ensure it is returned to the Office with a Transmittal Note.
- Report all damage and incidents, any defects, errors, safety concerns or problems encountered to the Offshore Management Team.
- Competent in the use of the systems used by Helix; Oracle purchasing system, NS-E Planned Maintenance System.
Experience/Skills required:
- 4+ years in a similar role.
- Good communication skills.
- Competent in the use of various software packages.
Mandatory Entry Level Requirements:
- OPITO Survival
- MIST
- Bideltoid Shoulder Measurement
- UKOOA Medical or equivalent
- OPITO Preparation of Dangerous Goods for Transport by Sea and Air
- Helideck Operations training preferred.
- ENG1 Medical preferred.
