We are AMS.

Our Contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) is one of our service offerings; we act as an extension of our clients' recruitment team and provide professional interim and temporary resources.


Our client is a globally respected engineering organisation, providing white collar, Blue collar and engineering services to many sectors including energy, aerospace, marine and defence.


At present we are looking for a Planner to work on our client's site in
Derby on an initial
12-month contract.


What You'll Be Doing:


  • Accountable for ensuring the 4 Weekly Planning Process is adhered to, ensuring Load and Capacity is Balanced Internal or Externally. To ensure Delivery Plans are maintained for the medium/ long term in the available executive system.
  • Governance of ERP Compliance and Inventory Planning & Forecasting
  • To be responsible for the Planning & Control elements for all products/ supply chains for all phases of the life cycle including Unsourced Parts, Reactivations, Parts Transfers, and including input to Supply Chain Design
  • Provide the business with changes to Customer and Financial metrics through simulated scenarios for a Value Stream of parts in line with Planning Models and commodity Strategies available. Be responsible for SORB and Business Reviews or Business Review Meeting (BRM)
  • Support the Supply Chain Unit (SCU) make 4 weekly planning process. Ensure the actions are raised and followed to deliver the plan and meet the customer demand (SP1)
  • Assess that plants or suppliers have the capacity to support customer requirements and suppliers have the necessary planning capability.
  • Maintain the executive system to reflect the agreed plan including SAP system data set up to correctly cascade demand flowing down to supplier/ plant. (SP8)
  • Liaise with the Production Controller or Order Controller to understand short term deviations from the plan and overall plan adherence.
  • Understanding any ongoing concerns and reflecting in longer term plans where required.
  • Maintenance of Material Master settings and static data to ensure the correct system settings are utilised to support the Delivery and Inventory Plan
  • Responsible at a part number level for ensuring the integrity of the management of the ERP system and the data contained (SP1), govern ERP compliance through weekly reviews with the plant or Supplier Management Team (SMT) allocating actions as required.
  • Responsible for the Planning of New Product Introduction (NPI) parts, Source and Method changes, all Part Reactivations and supply chain changes including dual source/ supply chain design:
  • Ensuring an end-to-end supply chain plan, including sub-tier and offload, is correctly set up in the executive system
  • Creating and managing additional independent demand in support of new or changing supply chains with any excess inventory appropriately sized and authorised through Excess Inventory Authorisation (EIA)
  • Owning APQP elements relevant to the role and working as part of the cross functional Integrated Project/Programme Team (IPT) (where appropriate) to commit and support the delivery of the plan for these elements
  • Operate as the P&C interface for P&C functional specific tasks and not as the Operational Business Unit (OBU) interface to the cross functional IPT (where appropriate) to develop the plan and working with the Controller to ensure the plan and key information is transitioned successfully for launch. Provide input to Supply Chain Design, implementing the Planning Model for parts providing appropriate evidence for mandated processes
  • Evaluate and engage the relevant stakeholders in mitigating the longterm Demand and Supply Risks including Unsourced and Scheduled Expiry dates to ensure continuity of Supply
  • Own the capacity statement for the plant or suppliers, regularly updating to reflect tactical shortterm interventions and medium to long term strategic plans (SP7). Assess that plants or suppliers have the necessary planning capability and capacity to support customer requirements. Deploy / support standard processes in support of this (Supplier Planning Assessment (SPA)/Quality and Capacity Analysis Report (QCAR) / Order Book Review (OBR)).
  • For the Sales & Operations Planning (SORB) process, support the creation of defined Scheduling Scenarios, assess the Load & Capacity Balance as well as the Customer and Inventory impacts (SP7). Data to be modelled for business evaluation and business review taking into account the known risks before enacting the SORB response
  • Evaluate adhoc planning scenarios to determine customer and financial impact of different approaches and recommend scheduling approach.
  • Create and manage additional independent demand in support of new or changing supply chains. Ensure any excess inventory is authorised through EIA and supported by remedial actions and relevant stakeholder engagement. Ensure any inventory shortfall is addressed and suppor
