**Job Description

What You'll Do**The Specialist
Recycled Steel Trading will trade in the physical flow of recycled steel originated by the business in support of executing an overall physical and financial trading strategy within risk tolerances and governance frameworks set by the business.

Performance & Delivery

Trading Strategy

Execute physical and financial trading strategies in recycled steel that seek to maximise the capture of the arbitrage value between these markets and from regional market and logistics cost changes

Business Integration

Ensure close alignment with the business development work of the IO CMT towards being a supplier of choice to the steel industry
Execute trading activity within risk limits and in keeping with the value and principles of Anglo American Group while ensuring the maximum value is delivered from trading of the physical position flows being originated
Develop relationships internally across the IO CMT and the wider Anglo American Marketing business to support delivery on business objective

Target Delivery

Identify and execute on the origination and sale of physical trading opportunities while working to optimise profit outcomes through risk management
Develop business plans and opportunities under the guidance of the Manager Ferrous Recycling & Trading in support of delivering budgeted earnings
Assist as required in the management of risk exposures through the use of derivative contracts under direction of the Manager Ferrous Recycling & Trading
Help to deliver set targets on trading volumes and margin while managing debtors and credit exposures and the management of inventory position.

Optimization and Growth

Stakeholder Management

Develop and maintain longterm relationships with end users, brokers, traders and producers.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders.

Risk and Governance

Ensure all physical and financial trading is conducted within Anglo American Group guidelines, procedures and authorities.
Complete all physical trading activity with zero breaches
Execute all physical trading transactions within approved limits.
Qualifications
An undergraduate qualification (Bachelor's degree or equivalent), ideally in a technical degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Pure Science)
Desirable: It would be advantageous to have a post graduate qualification in a relevant discipline OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity

Role-specific knowledge:

A track record in trading and indepth physical trading experience in recycled steel and commodity trade execution processes, e.g., documentation, LCs, contracting, logistics
Experience of working with Commodity Trade Risk Management (CTRM) systems and overall deal management experience in regard to origination and execution within trading plans and limits
A deep understanding of Physical markets preferably in the mining or commodities industry with experience and knowledge of complimentary financial markets desirable.
Physical logistics such as shipping, railing, trucking.
SME knowledge of a commodities value chain (Inc. Trade lifecycle), end to end from Production through to Shipping (Inc. Contract to cash)
Fair understanding of

Financial Products:
Swaps, Exchange Futures, Options, etc.
