With Health & Safety being our number one priority at Caterpillar, the
Health & Safety Coach will have an important role in supporting our expressed vision to build a culture where everyone's behaviour supports a safe environment within a successful and sustainable business.
You will play a key part in supporting our health and safety improvement programme and be expected to advise, encourage and train colleagues to work safely.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Provide one to one or team coaching, practical advice and/or assistance to the workforce related to health, safety or environmental issues.
- Provide practical handson support and guidance with workplace improvement programmes and procedures within the facilities. This may include Rapid Improvement Workshops, introduction of new equipment and area relocations
- Assist and advise supervisors with their responsibility to:
- Ensure the risk assessment programme is completed throughout the facility.
- Investigate accidents, near misses and incidents to root cause.
- Deliver health, safety and environmental training packages.
- Attend and participate in relevant health, safety and environmental meetings. Including Department Safety Meetings and CI meetings.
NB. The panel cannot make assumptions when shortlisting therefore please demonstrate your qualifications and experience on your CV relevant to the criteria outlined.
- Experience demonstrating being proactive within health and safety such as raising Safety related CI cards, participating H&S meetings etc
- Must be able to demonstrate that you have the confidence to deliver training and coach and mentor employees.
- The role requires you to be selfmotivated and have good written and oral communication skills.
- Teamwork and flexibility are essential prerequisites.
- Willing to learn.
- The ability to organise and manage your own workload.
