ASAP
Terms: 8:00am -6:00pm Monday to Friday, with Saturday mornings on a rotation basis.

Salary £32,000, plus performance related bonus.

Duckworth is a family-owned business, established in Lincolnshire with over 40 years of experience in the automotive industry. We are an official Jaguar Land Rover and Isuzu Franchise, operating over 3 sites in the county. We require an experienced workshop controller at our Jaguar Land Rover site at Kirton, near Boston. You will work alongside another existing workshop controller who is already in post.


As workshop controller you will manage and develop our busy workshop, to ensure that maximum efficiency and quality is achieved, and that customer satisfaction remains high.


You will ensure that repairs and servicing to vehicles are carried out efficiently to Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) standards and that all documentation and computer systems are updated correctly.


It will be your responsibility to correctly and accurately interpret instructions from the job cards/repair orders and will follow all documented procedures ensuring that our team of service technicians comply with repair instructions and stipulated settings and tolerances from manufacturers' manuals, bulletins, check sheets, etc.


You will proactively plan the capacity of the workshop, attend any training course as deemed necessary by the service manager, obtain and record any necessary technical information by following documented procedures, and undertake other tasks as may reasonably be required these may include liaising with customers, working outside normal hours, supervising and instructing trainees etc.


You will ensure our team of service technicians are qualified to do the work allocated and you will carry out quality checks on works completed and will provide accurate reporting on repeat repairs for review.

You will ensure that work is completed by the times required and report any likely delays to the service manager/service advisor/customer as early as possible.

You will ensure that work done and tests carried out are accurately reported and recorded and will immediately report any further work required or vehicle faults, as laid down in documented procedures.


Working alongside our service technicians, will catalogue, protect and maintain all tools and equipment and to implement the calibration programme and record it effectively, in compliance with documented procedures.


You will advise the customer/service advisor of any parts delays or extra parts required and will order agreed parts from the parts department.

You will ensure that all displaced parts are immediately clearly identified and/or placed in quarantine areas, as required by documented procedures.

You will ensure that the Workshop is kept in a clean and tidy condition and all scrap, etc. is removed immediately upon the completion of each repair complying with process.

You will strive to work as a team and achieve all company and personal goals and targets.


Working alongside our health and safety manager, you will ensure that all guidelines and regulations on health and safety are followed.

Required experience:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Previous people management experience in a similar environment
  • Computer skills: knowledge of automotive CRM systems such as RTC and CD-UK (Kerridge) would be an advantage
  • Indepth knowledge of the automotive industry

Pay:
£32,000.00 per year
