The Associate Director - Governance, Risk, Compliance and Administration (GRCA) is an executive role within the Directorate of IT Services, working with the Director of IT you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the University achieves its ambitions for the future.


Our technology roadmap is crucial to supporting the University and working with Finance and Procurement teams this role will be key in developing our governance, risk, and compliance functions, to ensure we have the frameworks in place to flourish and innovate.

Working across a broad stakeholder group both internally and externally you will build strategic relationships to enable us to innovate with our partners bringing more value to the University.


You will lead and manage the GRCA function - known internally as Directorate Services - and ensure continuous improvement by developing people and processes that support the vision, mission, and core values of the University.


Directorate Services consists of four areas: Operational Support; IT Supplier Management; IT Governance, Risk and Compliance; and IT Health and Safety.

These critical functions control and/or govern all aspects of the running of the IT Directorate and have large budgets, long-term strategic planning requirements and complex risk portfolios associated.

You will have four direct reports and lead a collection of teams comprised of around 45 staff.


As a member of the IT Executive Team, we are looking for a professional who is values-led; blends authentic, emotionally intelligent leadership with technical expertise; and has a proven ability to define and manage ITS governance ensuring our services represent the best value for money for the University.

In such a multi-layered, multi-faceted and multi-stakeholder setting, your professional judgement, insight and ability to influence strategic direction will be key to your success.
