Are you an experienced Paediatric Critical Care Nurse seeking a new challenge? There is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated nurse to join our Paediatric Critical Care management team.
We are a 14 bed Paediatric Critical Care Unit comprising 8 Paediatric Intensive Care beds and 6 Paediatric High Dependency beds.
We care for children under a wide range of specialities and work closely alongside the Children's Medical Emergency Transport (CoMET) service for the East Midlands region.
We are supported by the Paediatric Critical Care Education Team and working alongside Nottingham University, providing learning opportunities for postgraduate nurses.
You must be an RN, RSCN or RN Child qualified nurse with substantial experience working in a Paediatric Critical Care environment as a Band 5 nurse.
You will be expected to lead a team, deputise and co-ordinate care on the Unit in the absence of a Band 7 Sister.
You must demonstrate excellent organisational skills and be expected to support a cohort of Band 5 nurses.Main duties of the job

They will be required to:
Be an effective leader and role model and regularly take charge of the Unit, ensuring that the standards and quality of care given to patients, together with the environment in which care is delivered, are maintained at a high standard.
Support a cohort of Band 5 nurses, carrying out yearly appraisals and ensuring staff training is up to date.
The post holder is required to be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council

Nottingham Children's Hospital is set within the vibrant city of Nottingham known for its many historical sites.
The Children's Hospital is housed within the Queen's Medical Centre campus and has 116 inpatient beds across 8 inpatient wards covering all specialities.
We are a major trauma centre, and the Children's Critical Care Unit works closely with the Emergency Department in providing front line care for trauma patients.
The Hospital is also a provider of paediatric renal services for the region, which allows staff on the unit to be actively involved with kidney transplants and haemofiltration.
This is a exciting time to join Nottingham Childrens Hospital as we became the first Children's Hospital in Europe to achieve pathway to excellence accreditation in 2020.
