Position Overview


Reporting to the Technical Director, this role will play a pivotal part in Wise's strategic growth of large-scale conference and corporate events, heavily utilising video technology and cross collaboration between technical departments to deliver on our promises.

This role requires an experienced technically minded, but client friendly, professional who is passionate about the event technology, instrumental in developing our team and our stock of equipment, fostering key partnerships, and contributing to the overall success of Wise.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Management of audio, lighting, & video

30% of role:


  • Key stakeholder in the creation of asset purchase plans for audio, lighting, & video that align with the company's vision, curating the future.
  • Oversee the management of inventory, procurement, and maintenance of audio, lighting, & video equipment to ensure availability and quality.
  • Provide training opportunities for staff and stay updated on industry trends, implementing innovative solutions for improved service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, industry standards, and certifications.
  • Evaluate and establish relationships with external suppliers for technical equipment and services.

Event technical management of audio, lighting, & video

  • Opportunity to select and work on preferred events based on individual interest and expertise.
  • Work with other departments for seamless event execution and manage relationships with technical vendors to ensure costeffective solutions.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of event logistics, including loadin and loadout schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, industry standards, and certifications.
  • Provide support to clients and internal teams, ensuring technical setups meet quality standards and troubleshooting issues.
  • Oversee and develop technical designs, providing guidance for audio, lighting, & video teams to ensure highquality service delivery.

On-site operation of audio, lighting, & video

  • Opportunity to select and work on preferred events based on individual interest and expertise.
  • Oversee the setup, operation, and teardown of audio, lighting, and video equipment for events.
  • Coordinate with event organizers and other technical staff to ensure seamless execution of audio, lighting, and video requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to audio, lighting, and video equipment during events.
  • Train and supervise junior operators and technicians.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as stage management and production, to ensure a cohesive and highquality event experience.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to event organizers and performers as needed.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

Demonstrated expertise in a comparable technical leadership capacity within the event production sector
:


  • Profound understanding of audiovisual technologies, lighting systems, and stage production.
  • Outstanding project management and organizational abilities.
  • Proven capability to excel in a fastpaced, deadlineoriented environment.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication proficiencies.
  • Certified in First Aid at Work.
  • Completion of IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent).
  • Proficient in BS7909 or equivalent.
  • Proficient in event rigging or equivalent qualification.
