Service Assistant
Office Service Assistant required for busy, family run, workshop and mobile HGV repairs and maintenance provider.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual, who feels they would have an interest in and be able to learn the concepts of vehicle mechanical components and systems and who is looking to progress within their new role.

No prior experience is necessary as full support and ongoing on the job training will be given. Attitude and aptitude are what we are looking for, not necessarily experience.


Role:

Reporting to and working with the Service Manager to effectively manage vehicle parts coming in and out of the business, responding to customer and technician requirements and assisting with the operational running of the day to day logistics and requirements of the service department.

Duties:

• Manage parts in and returns
• Deal with supplier delivery drivers
• Manage consumables and stock levels
• Order parts from suppliers as required
• Manage vehicle work schedules
• Manage the diary bookings
• Answer the phone and deal with enquiries from customers, technicians and suppliers as appropriate
• Allocate jobs to technicians
• Carry out HGV roller brake tests (full training provided)
• Collect and deliver parts to mobile technicians using company vehicles

This is not an exhaustive list and you will likely take on greater responsibilities as you progress within your role.

Skills required:

• Good computer skills and proficient in various Microsoft packages (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Excellent telephone manner, customer service and organisational skills.
• Reliable and trustworthy
• Works well under pressure
• Full UK driving license

Hours:

8.5 Hours per day, start and finish times between 8am and 6pm to be agreed or possibly rotated. Overtime available.
