Description

We are excited to be able to offer a new permanent, Band 8b Principal Clinical Psychologist position in a new BCUHB wide regional level 3 Paediatric Weight management service.

This is a role within a specialist service and as such, we are looking for an experienced and skilled Clinical Psychologist.

The service aligns to the Welsh Government Building a Healthier Wales strategy and will offer evidenced based opportunities for children and young people in North Wales who wish to lose weight.

Experience of working with children and young people is essential and we would welcome applicants with relevant experience in weight management, eating disorders, a health setting, health promotion and prevention setting, or any experience in a setting where behaviour change work is a focus.

The successful applicant will need to evidence their commitment to clinical quality, evidence-based practice and maintaining high professional standards for themselves and others.

We are looking for a highly motivated and well-organised individual with a passion for helping children and families achieve the best possible outcomes for both their physical and emotional wellbeing.

The successful applicant will demonstrate the capacity to work collaboratively, effectively and flexibly within a multidisciplinary team and across a number of settings.

In this role you will be delivering a specialist weight management service at level 3 to children, young people, and their families.

This will involve delivering a range of psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions at several levels and across systems. This will initially include some lower level group work alongside more specialist assessment and intervention work.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Enjoy being part of working with engaged leadership at all levels, and be assured we are committed to promoting equality and diversity, and are proud to welcome applicants under the "Disability Confident Employer" scheme.

Some flexibility in working hours will be required to meet the needs of the service and its users e.g. early evening groups.

Although the service is based within the Central area it covers the whole of North Wales, and an element of home working would be possible for the successful applicant.

The role will include providing staff and trainee supervision within the service.

The post holder will provide clinical placements and teaching to trainees on the North Wales Clinical Psychology Doctoral Programme, Bangor University.

This is a passionate, dynamic and innovative team who are working across North Wales to meet the needs of children and young people.
