As a Barclays Global Markets Trading Strategist, you will be part of a newly created group within Global Markets, responsible for orchestrating Key Themes, Top Trade Ideas and Thematic Deep Dives across all asset classes.
You will be required to work closely with the Head of the team, and more generally with the Barclays Global Markets Management, Research, Sales and Trading businesses to collate and create presentation material for Senior Management.

What will you be doing?
- Connecting stakeholders from almost all areas of Front Office including Research, Trading, Sales, Risk and specialists in addition to external stakeholders
- Helping with the creation and maintenance of presentation material for senior Markets Management
- Covering the key market themes and trading ideas pulled together using a combination of Barclays Research, Sales and Trading data and insights
- Assisting with arranging the team's flagship webcast series (and future conferences/ other events), and preparation of any relevant insights for the events
- Playing a key role in collating and analysing the firm's proprietary markets data, and using it to help produce datadriven insights on key market themes
- Liaising with colleagues including senior risktakers, sales and research, to help with the production of the team's content and consolidation of trade ideas across the firm
- Leveraging the team's content to communicate key markets insights and trade ideas in internal forums to senior stakeholders and to buy side clients
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably majors in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or Statistics
- Prior sell side or buy side experience in Research, Sales, Trading or Desk Strategy
- A good understanding of and passion for markets and data analysis, knowledge and experience of Python or other relevant programming languages
- Proficiency in use of external financial databases including Bloomberg, and Microsoft Office is paramount along with excellent written and spoken English
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Motivated, enthusiastic researcher/trader/salesperson with a few years' experience in analysing global cross asset markets and communicating key insights and trade ideas
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to interact with senior stakeholders
- Works well under pressure, and is committed to meeting deadlines
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills as well as being a team player

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links.
