Join Our Team as a Plant Fitter

Are you passionate about keeping machinery and equipment in peak condition, ensuring operational teams can work seamlessly without interruptions due to mechanical breakdowns? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you at GCU (UK) Ltd.

Our Depot Team plays a critical role in the smooth operation of our Stores, Workshop, and Transport, providing vital support to GCU Operational Teams.

Key Duties:
Operational Responsibilities

Conduct thorough mechanical assessments of GCU Plant equipment returned from service to identify the scope of repairs, damages, and necessary parts for rectification.
Perform repairs and servicing on GCUowned Plant equipment.
Complete Garage Repair and Service Sheets while maintaining compliance with PUWER regulations.
Conduct function tests on plant equipment before issuance to teams.
Utilize the GCU Workshop Tagging System, ensuring the correct storage and quarantine areas are used.
Safely operate workshop tools and chemicals.
Ensure workshop security and tool maintenance at the end of each shift.
Assist the Vehicle Mechanic (up to a maximum of 50% of the shift per day).

Health and Safety Responsibilities

Maintain an organized, clean, and tidy workshop environment to prevent slips, trips, and falls.
Adhere to GCU HS Policies, Processes, and Risk Assessments.
Set an example by wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the area.

Quality Responsibilities

Follow GCU Plant and Equipment Management Processes and Tagging systems.
Generate accurate workshop paperwork.
