About the Role:

Be extraordinary. Be outstanding. Be a care assistant at The Treehouse Hospice for EACH in Ipswich on a full or part time basis. Every day will be different and offers new challenges.

You will be delivering high quality care to babies, children and young people with life threatening and life limiting conditions and supporting them and their families - in the hospice building, family homes and in the community.


We are looking for individuals with experience of working within a similar caring profession who want to further their experience or develop skills working in children's palliative care.

We are happy to offer full or part time hours and flexible working arrangements.

Our standard shift structure is 121⁄2 hour shifts (includes unpaid break) with the hours below:


  • Day shift 7:30am8:00pm
  • Night shift 7:30pm8:00am


  • Homecare shift

  • In the community (hours vary)

Job summary:

Deliver high quality person-centred care including a range of care tasks for babies, children and young people with life threatening conditions and support their families, as directed by senior clinical colleagues and in line with children's palliative care principles and participate in the delivery of planned family events and activities.

About Us:


We are currently caring for over 350 families with children needing palliative and end of life care and are providing support to more than 200 bereaved families.


Our full and diverse range of services includes: nursing care, specialist symptom management nursing, short breaks, wellbeing activities, counselling & therapies, care at end of life, bereavement support, and volunteer services in the home; all meeting the individual needs of the baby, child, young person and their whole family.
