As a Work-based Learning Tutor for Construction in the Built Environment, you'll be working in a rewarding & varied role, getting out & about in the community and visiting a range of businesses to pass on your skills and develop the next generation of construction professionals


It's also a fantastic opportunity to step into a teaching position and gain formal educational qualifications while enjoying the better work-life balance and benefits package of a college role.


You'll be building relationships with employers and maximising opportunities for apprentices while working closely with them to monitor progress through 1:1's and identify areas needing focus.


Day-to-day you will be responsible for:

  • Teaching professional construction in a hands-on practical learning environment
  • Monitoring and assessing learner progress
  • Liaising and building relationships with employers
  • Championing our commitment to putting students first

After your first year with us, success would look like:

  • Effectively supported students in their apprenticeships
  • Enthusiastically engaged with the college's dedicated CPD programmes
  • Built Strong working relationships and supported colleagues where possible

We're open-minded & welcome all applicants who believe they can build success with us, though ideally, you will:

  • Have qualifications and industry experience in the Professional Side of Construction, such as: Site Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or Surveying
  • Be willing to work towards qualifications such as A1/TAQA/Certificate in Education & Training (
    Fully funded by us)
    or Already Hold
  • Be enthusiastic about workbased learning for construction apprentices
  • Be excited to bring fresh ideas to the table and help us constantly improve
