About the Job
The role of North West Housing Officer is to build supportive relationships with tenants within the North West region.

You will be responsible for ensuring our North West tenants feel seen and heard, whilst delivering a high standard of tenancy support.


Whilst you are still new to the role and learning, you will begin with covering 6 tenants in Stockport, Knowsley and Macclesfield.

This will increase as you progress.


Job details:

  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (rare weekend work may be required).
- £24,000 - £26,000, depending on experience.

  • Option to work from home or the office, when not on tenant visits. Where possible, we ask the team to work from the office on Mondays and Wednesdays.
  • Reporting to the Tenancy Manager.

Job tasks:

  • Income management for tenants, including utilities
  • Conduct regular visits to a small amount of properties in the North West
  • Collate and file monthly property check documents
  • Collate and file Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans
  • Complete inventories
  • Assist with new tenancy management, including new tenant visits
  • Assist with end of tenancy management, including end of tenancy visits
  • Raise safeguarding concerns
  • Research community activities and volunteering opportunities for tenants
  • Assist with the Tenant Ambassador scheme
  • Hold tenant meetings and events
  • Issue correspondence, such as easy read and permission request letters
  • Complete referrals to other agencies, such as fire officers, the local police, Adult Social Care and Occupational Health
  • Ongoing tenancy management, such as dealing with hoarding, neighbourhood issues, ASB and changes to circumstances
  • Manage matters arising with damp, legionella and gas safety
  • Assess condition of the property, including spotting for hazards, and reporting back to the Repairs department
  • Conduct regular water temperature and smoke and/or carbon monoxide alarm checks

Desirable:

  • Experience working within the housing industry
  • Experience of working for a charity
  • Experience of working with vulnerable adults
  • A good understanding of learning disabilities and autism
